Greene County purchases new voting system

To comply with the settlement made by the Department of State, the County purchased new voting systems with a voter-verifiable paper trail. The money for these systems had been set aside in 2016 from Act 13 Impact fees, and reibursement, in part, is expected from Federal and State sources.

The County will be demonstrating the machines throughout the County, as directed by the Board of Elections, and will implement the new system on the 2019 Primary Election on May 21st, 2019.

While the new system is very much like the old system, there are a few differences, since every vote must be backed up by a paper ballot. To see the new ballot marker device, click here. to see the Precinct scanner that will actually tally the votes, click here. Note that these video's were made by the manufacturer and are not specific to the state of Pennsylvania but the process is the same.
