Just a few of the MANY friends & family that we hold very dear to our hearts!
These 5 big personalities come in 4 breeds - Wyndotte, Welsummer, New Hampshire Red, and Ameraucana. Raising these chicks since they were 5 weeks old has been a ton of fun and brought a lot of new energy to our home and garden. We have enjoyed the additional curiosity these birds inspired with kids, the extended community with our neighbors, and the deeper connections with our relatives reminiscing about the hens they had growing up.
Baxter loves to take part in anything and everything outdoors - camping, hiking, kayaking, laying in the middle of the garden, coffee on the front porch, bird watching, hanging out by the fire, laying in the hammock, and joining neighborhood BBQs. He is also an avid side kick during any home projects, placing himself right in the middle of the action. He's a natural herder so he is happiest when we're all together and in close proximity. We are excited to share this adventure with him and see what he thinks of our life being more outdoors and close-knit than ever before.
The Best Little House in Texas is a combination of our dreams, passions, ambitions and hopes. We are a young couple hoping to live a more sustainable life. We started our first garden five years ago and both our garden and passion for gardening have grown each year. Our entire yard is now an ecosystem of edibles and native plants. Throughout our walk (sometimes a run) down this path, sustainability became more and more ingrained in our lifestyle. It wasn't long before we began to feel our current mortgage and home system is not a sustainable system. We absolutely love our current home, but we realized the things we liked most about it, were things that we built and designed ourselves. Thus enter our goal to build a tiny home!
Up to this point, our lives have been filled with incredible experiences and people and we are stoked to have the opportunity to meet even more incredible people and places. We hope that you will follow us throughout this process and maybe even make the leap to live a tiny lifestyle!

"True Things" - They came to sit & dangle their feet off the edge of the world & after awhile they forgot everything but the good & true things they would do someday.
